Sweden's exotic automaker reveals that it's bringing a new version of its supercar to the Geneva Motor Show. It'll be called the Agera RS, but it hasn't told us anything more than that.
Few bragging rights are as hotly contested as Nürburgring lap times. Things have gotten so heated, in fact, that automakers have started slicing up the pie even finer: who makes the fastest sedan ever to lap the Norschleife, who the fastest front-driver, the fastest this and the fastest that. But the ultimate bragging rights still belong at the top of the leaderboard for the fastest street-legal production car. And now another exotic a
Ill news from our spy shooters at Germany's Nürburgring today, as we're saddened to report that the test of a Koenigsegg Agera R-based mule has gone very wrong.
Automotive recalls are often deadly serious matters of safety, but sometimes one comes around that makes you scratch your head and wonder, 'Why even bother?' That was the exactly the case with a newly reported campaign from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that bordered on the absurdly humorous. It concerned a single Koenigsegg Agera built in December 2012 as a 2013 mo
The Koenigsegg Agera One:1 has opportunity to become the new king of the supercar world. Its twin-turbocharged, 5.0-liter V8 has been tuned up to 1,341 horsepower (1,360 PS) thanks in part to its proprietary, 3D-printed variable geometry turbos. Plus, with power equal to one megawatt, the company claims it has created the world's first megacar.
What's in a name? For Koenigsegg's latest creation, something totally awesome, that's what. The "One:1" designation refers to a one-to-one power-to-weight ratio – one horsepower per kilogram. And the magic number? One-thousand, three-hundred and forty-one. Hold on to your butts, indeed.
Koenigsegg is celebrating its 20th birthday this year, and for the occasion, the Swedish specialists are taking the hypercar to the next level with its new Agera One:1 at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. In fact, it claims that, because it is the first production car with a one megawatt of power (1,341 horsepower), and a power-to-weight ratio of one-to-one (kilogram to horsepower), it
We told you about the bonkers Koenigsegg Agera One:1 hypercar back in October. Its name gives away its special power: a 1:1 horsepower-to-kilogram ratio. In other words, every single one of its 1,400 horsepower will have only 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) to move. Today, the first rendering of what the Agera One:1 will look like – complete with a rear wing of otherworldly size – appeared in a feature ab
At least 17 people were injured over the weekend when a driver at Poland's Gran Turismo Polonia event lost control of his Koenigsegg and crashed into the crowd. Video of the accident (scroll down to view, though be warned some scenes are graphic) shows the driver piloting his supercar down a straight stretch of closed-off road in front of spe
The Koenigsegg Agera R recently took to the Nürburgring for a little fun. Not surprisingly, there were a few cameras on hand to see the 1,100-horsepower titan whomp its way around the course, including one lens stationed at the exit to the pits. At the end of the track's long straight, the vantage point allows viewers to see the vehicles on track at the peak of speed. For the
Koenigsegg is officially amazing, at least according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The well-known record-keeping organization has granted the Koenigsegg Agera the record of quickest 0-300-0 kilometers per hour by a two-seat production car. The time? A scant 21.19 seconds, recorded at the Angeholm Airfield in Sweden on September 2, 2011, with Robert Serwanski behind the wheel.

When we were 21, we were happy to ditch the fake ID and score cheaper insurance rates. Life's a little different for Dhiaa Al-Essa, a 21-year-old Saudi who owns a fleet of exotics that'd turn the average enthusiast's knees into Jell-O.

In a perfect world, we'd all be able to afford a Koenigsegg Agera. (Well, not everyone else, 'cause that'd ruin the fun, but each of us anyway.) Unfortunately, as we're all to well aware, this is not a perfect world. But at least the magic of the Internet can bring us closer to the high-performance beasts we admire from afar.
